STAND DOWN WILL HOST EVENT TO KICK OFF CAPITAL CAMPAIGN FOR NEW VETERAN HOUSING COMMUNITY IN PALM BEACH COUNTY

PALM SPRINGS, FL- SEPTEMBER 6, 2018 – Stand Down, an initiative of Faith*Hope*Love* Charity, Inc. will be hosting an event to unveil their rebranding initiative and to Kick Off their Capital Campaign for the Village of Valor, a housing community specifically for veterans and their families in Lake Worth.

This invitation-only event will be held in the Atrium of Stand Down’s headquarters at 3175 South Congress Avenue in Palm Springs. The presentation will begin at 11am on Wednesday, September 12th.

This event will focus on raising awareness of the plight of homeless and at risk veterans in Palm Beach County and the need to break ground on the Village of Valor. With an initial $31 million goal, over $28 million has already been raised. Through this event the focus will be to bring attention to the remaining $2.8 million needed to break ground.

Project to build homes for homeless vets receives $2M from Palm Beach County

The Palm Beach County Board of Commissioners is giving a veteran’s group $2 million dollars for a construction project on 2nd Avenue. The board approved the money on Tuesday in a unanimous vote. Roy Foster, Executive Director, Faith*Hope*Love*Charity, Inc. said, “We will not rest until no veteran is left behind. These veterans fought for our country and should not struggle with homelessness. We will do everything in our power to raise the money needed to help them overcome their challenges and live a fulfilled life in the very country they defended.”

These military veterans served their country. Now they’ll live in the Village of Valor.

Military veterans who feel isolated and destitute may soon find a new place that recreates the sense of community they crave: the Village of Valor in Lake Worth. The project, designed to house low-income veterans, secured a burst of financing on Tuesday when the Palm Beach County Commission approved $2 million toward the $31 million proposed rental complex.
