Unit Mix

The unit mix will be one-, two- and three-bedroom apartment and town-home style homes.   The initial mix is 36 one-bedroom homes, 62 two-bedroom homes and 30 three-bedroom homes. It is anticipated that 25% of the homes will be eligible for project based vouchers. Additionally, 20% of the units will be part of the Stand Down program, which has a separate source of financing for those units, similar to a project based voucher program. Project financing is anticipated to utilize Low Income Housing Tax Credits, with housing focused on individuals at income levels of 30% and 60% of area median income. In an effort to ensure that all veterans are eligible for housing, 10% of the homes will be market rate.

The Village is designed to have a small area that focuses on an elderly population, with 12 apartment homes with certain aging in place amenities dedicated to this population segment. These homes will be located in a separate area that will have additional community spaces for the residents.

The Village of Valor will also integrate the successful Stand Down House program that Faith*Hope*Love*Charity, Inc. currently operates. As part of this program, there will be 26 two bedroom apartments, designed for two individuals per apartment.
